This semester, we had the pleasure of hosting a GLAMAZING College Glambassador program with 20 gloryous gals across the country. This month, we caught up with Glambassador Abby H. to get the low down on one of the most KICK ASS members of our #SoaperSquadUSA.
Name: Abby Hamilton
Nickname/Alias: Abby goin’ Ham
School: University of Kentucky
Hometown: Columbus, Ohio
Oh wow… if it can only be one bath product, can I bring all my S&G makeup too?! Haha, kidding. This is tough because since I’ve become a Glambassador, I use all sorts of Soap & Glory products daily and have many favorites. Given the circumstance, I’d have to narrow it down to the “Clean on Me” shower gel. A little goes a long way, so it will last me awhile and it also has built-in lotion which saves me that extra step, if need be. Also, can we talk about it’s scent?! A desert island could not keep me down against the power of the Original Pink fragrance. I’d rely on this product to keep me feeling clean, moisturized, and smelling great.
What is your favorite S&G scent?
I love the Sugar Crush scent! I use the body spray daily and love the way it complements the Original Pink scent that’s in my shower gel and body butter. Sometimes I swap the original Righteous Butter for the Sugar Crush Body Buttercream for an extra citrusy scent.
What advice would you give our 16 year old self?
I’d tell my 16-year-old self to keep putting yourself out there, take risks, and jump at every opportunity that comes your way! You’ll learn a lot about yourself and as life goes on, everything will come easier. Oh, and take your makeup off before bed. Bad habits only get worse!
What are you currently studying?
I’m double majoring in Fashion Merchandising and Marketing.
What is your dream job?
I’ve always pictured myself having a kick-ass career in the fashion industry one day. However, my future dream title is still being determined. I have a corporate internship this summer that I’m hoping to seek a lot of guidance from, but I do know that it would be doing something that I worked hard to achieve and can be proud of!
What’s the best beauty advice you’ve ever received & who gave it to you?
My esthetician in middle school told me to never do my own eyebrows! Back then, I thought my fuller brows were bushy and embarrassing but she encouraged me to keep my natural shape and stay away from the tweezers. She knew I wouldn’t know the difference between touching up and practically plucking them all off. With her help, my brows have continuously been one of my best features! Thanks to Soap & Glory, I’ve been making them look even fuller with their “Archery Brow Almighty” power-glide crayon.
What’s the biggest beauty mishap you’ve ever had? C’mon girl, SHARE!
Besides somehow getting lipstick on my teeth whenever I apply… I would say my biggest beauty mishaps have arisen from not putting the proper time and effort into my appearance. I am always on-the-go and have a terrible habit of not realistically estimating the time it will take to get ready (ask my friends). Therefore, I have applied my makeup in the car more times than I’m proud of! I’m also always waiting until the last minute to get my roots done or my nails filled. It’s definitely something I need to work on.
You’ve got FIVE minutes to apply your morning makeup…which ONE Soap & Glory cosmetic product product are you reaching for?
If it’s a weekday before class, I’m used to only having five minutes! I typically prioritize the ‘Thick & Fast’ HD Mascara! The results trick people into thinking I didn’t just roll out of bed by making my eyes look bigger and brighter. I also keep ‘Pillow Plump’ lip-gloss in my backpack and all my purses, so I can apply on the go.
What is your spirit animal?
Chrissy Teigen! Although I don’t share her passion for cooking (ask anyone), her personality is one of a kind. She doesn’t take herself too seriously and can hold her own against anyone. Her relationship is absolute goals and the kind I’m holding out for one day. From what she’s shown us, Chrissy is someone I’d love to resemble one day!
Winged cat eye or daringly bold lip?
Winged cat eye! Like I said before, I have a terrible habit of getting lipstick on my teeth! I also think a bold lip can be harder to maintain. Once I’m done getting ready, I like to leave my worries at the door, so eye makeup is typically my statement of choice.
Why do you think #TheFutureIsFemale?
I think the future is female because our presence is needed and more valued than ever before! We’ve had the chance to prove ourselves and show society what we have to offer. I’ve never doubted that I can accomplish anything I set my mind to and with the support of other optimistic women, we’re unstoppable. I’m thankful for the opportunities I’ve been given due to the kick-ass women before me and am more than proud to be a girl!Back to Blog
