Frequently Asked Questions

At Soap and Glory, we have been bringing the best of British bubbles, beauty and beyond to bathrooms since 2006, when we started formulating fun, fearlessly world-class products to give every woman the best bang for her budget. With an array of iconic and award-winning products, and fabulous fragrances under our belt, we have set the beauty bar high from day one. We can say with pride that absolutely none of our products are tested on animals – a stance that we have passionately withheld since our humble beginnings over ten years ago. Every single Soap & Glory formulation is tweaked and perfected so that the end result is a range of make-up, bath, body and skincare that is as close to brilliant as humanly possible. And while we believe that beauty absolutely matters, it doesn’t matter absolutely.

The team is working hard to find perfect new partners around the world, which we will be sure to let you know about when they are confirmed.

We understand that animal testing is a key concern for a growing number of consumers and at Soap & Glory, we can confidently state that all of our formulations are safety and efficacy tested on people. Made for humans, so tested on humans obviously.

We uphold very strict guidelines through our regularly audited manufacturing partners that uphold the ‘no animal testing’ policy. As well, we are fortunate that our biggest retail partner – Boots The Chemists – upholds the very same standards by funding through an organisation called FRAME (the FUND for the REPLACEMENT of ANIMALS in MEDICAL EXPERIMENTS) in an effort to eliminate reliance in the industry on animal testing. That said – and because we believe transparency is key – it’s important for you to know that no retailer or manufacturer can categorically state that ‘none’ of their raw materials or ingredients have, at some time in the past, been tested on animals. The majority of individual raw materials used in cosmetics today have been through some kind of animal testing process.

At Soap & Glory, we absolutely do not test our formulations on animals, however we can’t say that each and every ingredient that goes into them has not, historically, been cleared for human use by animal testing. We hope this answers your question. If you need any more information about animal testing, we’d suggest you contact Colipa, the European Cosmetics Directive association, via www.colipa.eu.

All ingredients in every product are listed in full on our website and local retailer websites. If you want more information on specific ingredients in a certain product, send us a message here.

It is great to know you are interested about possible job-openings at Soap & Glory. The majority of our products are completely safe for you to continue using during pregnancy, but we do recommend you avoid using our firming products such as Sit Tight. You may also be interested to know we’ve had reports from several of our devotees that there’s not much out there that can beat The Righteous Butter when it comes to tackling stretch marks! For Skincare products, please consult your doctor for advice.

In a pioneering step, in 2015, ahead of legislation, Soap & Glory removed all microbeads from our rinse-off products. From now on, we will use no plastic and no bio-based or biodegradable glitter in any of the new products that we develop (this includes any promotional and display materials)! This also extends to other materials that are coated with a plastic film.

Any chemicals used in any of our glorious products are clearly displayed on all of our packaging and meet the requirements of our parent company’s (Walgreens Boots Alliance) global Restricted Substances List. Boots and Walgreens hold the safety of their consumers and the environment at the heart of everything that they do. Both have grown from a pharmaceutical heritage and have long-established expertise in retailing, while Boots also adds unrivalled manufacturing expertise. Our HQ’s chemical experts use these multi-sector credentials to clearly identify and understand the safety impact that some chemicals may have and keep exceptionally close control of those that are used in our products.

All factories used to make Soap & Glory products are known to us and carefully audited before being used for the first time against our global ethical trading standards (internationally recognised labour conventions and environmental protection standards) – and thereafter audited every one to two years.

We understand that animal testing is a key concern for an ever-growing number of our customers. Soap & Glory is actively opposed to animal testing; we do not conduct or commission animal testing on any of our products, or on any of the ingredients used in our products. This is a position that we have maintained since we started our beautiful brand over a decade ago. All of our formulations are safety and efficacy tested on people.

Soap & Glory never has and never will test on animals and we are proud to now be Cruelty Free International certified. At the moment not all of our products are vegan but please see below for all of those that are:
