This is long. But if you read all the way to the end, you can win things.
It turns out that Marcia and Switz -who heads up PNPD here at S&G – were having a ‘global resource discussion’ in an effort to minimize the effect of Soap & Glory on the environment, and what came out of it – along with a good many initiatives our team has decided to undertake – is that the earth’s biggest problem will soon stem from a SHORTAGE OF WATER.
At our weekly team ‘update’, Switz whipped out this big graph that illustrated how our shower gel sales keep climbing, then shook her head at us and said, ‘Every single one of those showers uses up water’. (We knew this, but we weren’t going to spoil the effect. We just nodded, lumps in our throats, because Switz is really convincing.) Marcia chimed in, suggesting that perhaps if girls all over the world were opting for Soap & Glory, it might be possible to convince those very same girls (who have excellent taste and their priorities straight) to limit their ‘on tap’ time to a 2-MINUTE RINSE.
Maybe for fun- Judy then suggested- we call it the Soap & Glory 2-Minute Rinse.
Soap & Glory lovers, are you nodding? ARE YOU IN?
Great. Then could you try it tomorrow morning? It goes like this:
Ten to fifteen seconds of hot water to get wet.
Then TURN OFF THE TAP while you suds, you scrub, you shave, you shampoo. (We would recommend shampooing after suds, scrub, shave, because soap in the eye can sting and is more likely to happen when your head is hanging down.)
Once you’re done, take 20 to 30 seconds to rinse. If it’s a conditioner day, rub on your conditioner. Wait the required amount of time, then take another 20 second rinse.
This should get you in and out of the shower without running more than 120 seconds of water. If you can do it, WE SALUTE YOU! And as you’ve saved so much time, we would like you to email us at prize@soapandglory.com , or Twitter, or post a note on our official FACEBOOK page, or blog that you’ve managed the challenge of the Soap & Glory 2 Minute Rinse. Daily if you can do it. We’d like you to suggest The Soap & Glory 2 Minute Rinse to others. In fact, we’d like EVERYBODY to take shorter showers.
(It’s easy, darn-it, and it can help preserve the earth.)
Marie has rightfully pointed out that it will also leave you more time to flat iron your hair.
Possibly even more motivating? Alvin will be searching forums and feeds for mentions of successful Soap & Glory 2 Minute Rinses and has giveaways (one winner every day) for those found SHOWERING RESPONSIBLY.
Let’s go people: WASTE WATER NOT, WANT WATER NOT. YOU’VE GOT TWO MINUTES!
-->I saw this and thought that it couldnt be possible however i tried it anyway and cut my time down to just over 2 minutes, then my boyfriend asked me why i was timing myself...he just laughed so i bet him he couldn't do it, Now we have competitions each morning and see who can get the lowest time, i'm winning currently with 100 seconds despite having to do so much more than him. WIN
Hey I read your blog and I decided to use your idea of a 2 minute shower, although it was quite how to believe it, however I was quite surprised that I was able to have my shower within the 2 minutes and had plenty of time to sit down, relax and eat my breakfast before work. I would highly recommend it and now I'm totally in love!!!!
